It’s almost back-to-school time and among other things this is the time of year that auto manufacturers start rolling out the new models for next year. Most of the 2015 class will just have minor changes to the exterior and interior and possibly some technology or performance updates. A select few vehicles have been totally redesigned and are much anticipated. These are the types of vehicles people wait all year for and they should sell very quickly once they hit the lots.

Six Most Exciting New 2015 Models:

2015 Chevy Colorado & GMC Canyon – The 2015 editions of the GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado mark GM’s return to the small truck segment to compete with the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. Both trucks are available with either a 193-hp four-cylinder or a 302-hp V-6, promising better fuel economy than the larger Silverado or Sierra full-size trucks, while still delivering standout performance.

2015 Chrysler 200 – With actual wood instead of plastic for the “wood trim” the Chrysler 200 has been totally overhauled inside and out. The exterior shape has been smoothed out with attractive lines that set the car apart from the rest of the midsize segment. The car is slightly wider and taller than the Ford Fusion and the interior is well laid out. Plus the car is offered with a 295 horsepower, 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 and a nine-speed automatic.

2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat – New for 2015 is the most powerful American made production car with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI engine cranking out 707 hp and will take you from 0-60 in about three and a half seconds. For muscle car enthusiasts this will be worth the wait.

2015 Ford F-150 – You may recall the all new aluminum-body Ford F-150 was discussed in January after the Detroit Auto Show.  The weight of the truck has been decreased by 700 pounds, improving fuel efficiency and handling.

2015 Ford Mustang – The all-new 2015 Mustang is the first pony to feature a fully independent suspension and an available EcoBoost 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine along with the 3.7L V6 and 5.0L V8. The brakes have also been upgraded and of course the new Mustang has a distinct new look for 2015, lower and wider in the rear with all new headlights.

2015 Porsche Macan – Following the success of the Cayenne, Porsche is launching a compact crossover to deliver high-end performance to this market. The Macan S, is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 rated at 340 horsepower and the Macan Turbo runs on a turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that puts out 400 hp, making it the most powerful crossover SUV on the market.
